A Carol Service once more!

By December 23, 2021No Comments

The British-Slovene Society returned to the Church of St. Andrew-by-the Wardrobe in London on 10th December to celebrate our annual service of carols and readings after a year’s break due to Covid.

Observing guidelines for tests, masks and distancing, nearly 100 people joined in a service organised by Catherine King, Kaja Pečnik and Mateja Šömen. Kaja and Mateja gathered a magnificent choir and sang some solo parts themselves.

The Lakeland Voices from Sedbergh, twinned with Zreče in Slovenia, came down from the north to add their joyful voices to the celebration.

Afterwards the congregation enjoyed wine kindly donated by the Slovenian Embassy, and mountains of potica.

A collection raised £202 for the Barka charity for people with special needs, which we support in Slovenia.
